After the installation of a Kaspersky Lab product, Windows Server 2008 may "blue screen", e.g. while the computer is being started or if some task is being executed. It might be a conflict either with your computer software or with some drivers and Kaspersky Lab product. If such a problem arises, Kaspersky Lab Technical Support should receive a full memory dump file.

In the request give detailed description of the problem, the list of actions needed to reproduce the problem.

How to get complete memory dump:

By default the operating system creates a small memory dump that is not enough to find out the reason for the failure, a complete memory dump is necessary for it. Configure it the following way:

  1. In the bottom left corner of the screen click the Start button.
  2. Right-click the Computer menu and in the context menu select Properties.

  3. In the System window click the Advanced system settings link.

  4. In the System Properties window on the Advanced tab in the Startup and Recovery section click the Settings button.

  5. In the Startup and Recovery window in the Write debugging information section in the drop-down list select Complete memory dumpTote Color Women TM Red Elegant Flowers Fulltime Candy Leather Handbags Fashion Shoulder Girls Bag 7wgqTPgz.

In the same section choose the folder where to save the created dump. By default this file will be saved by the operating system in its own folder C:\Windows (%SystemRoot%) in MEMORY.DMP file. You can choose any folder name in the attached field.

  6. In the Startup and Recovery window click the OK button.
  7. In the System Properties window click the OK button.
  8. Close all windows.
  9. Reproduce the problem once again.
  10. Make sure the complete memory dump is successfully created.
  11. Attach these files (see the list at the top of article) to a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support service via the My Kaspersky Account

You will be able to attach files by two methods:

  • Upload of your files directly from this web-form: you can attach the necessary files to the message by clicking the Browse button.
  • Upload your files on Kaspersky Lab's FTP server manually: you can attach the necessary files to your message by uploading them on the Kaspersky Lab's FTP server in the folder with the name of your request number.

The memory dump file you generated may be archived and that will greatly reduce the size of the file you need to upload to Kaspersky Lab's FTP resource.
